The first church was erected in 1727 on the corner where Route 9 swings into the Mills Road. However after 30 years of service the western part of the town along the river has increased in population faster than the cape so calls were made to relocate the church to a more central position. It was opposed and the church was burnt down. Read on about the history of this church by visiting the Church on the Cape website.
