Be inspired by tall tales of early settlement and trading ships, or classic memorabilia from a bygone era…

The Brick Store Museum encompasses much of the history of Kennebunkport Maine as visitors from across the country and around the globe have discovered. Whether you are inspired by tall tales of early settlement, trading ships or classic antique pieces from a bygone era or memorabilia of life styles in the region, The Brick Store Museum is the ideal starting point as you explore Kennebunkport.

Founded in 1936 by Edith Cleaves Barry, The Brick Store was a dry store inherited from her great-grandfather William Lord, a wealthy local businessman and renowned sea Captain. Completed in 1852, the original Brick Store is the centre of the Museum’s Main Street complex which also incorporates five other historical buildings housing over 70,000 pieces concerning the history of the Kennebunks. Focussed on preserving the regional Kennebunkport history, the Museum offers a remarkable insight into the development of the village.
